Okay, so let me start by acknowledging how late this post is! Life has been pretty hectic lately (who am I kidding…it isn’t just lately) and if I am being totally honest, I am definitely starting to feel like something has got to give.
That said, when all the frustration that can come with being a working mom sets in, the last thing I want to do is give up the things that bring me joy. The simple act of bringing out some seasonable décor and arranging and rearranging it until I get it just right brings a certain calm that I think if I were to stop in an effort to save a bit of time, would in fact have the opposite effect.
So, without further ado, my Fall home tour! I like to keep things simple in my house, with small changes that reflect the time of year. Felt, wool and plaid textiles, paired with additional throw blankets can really up the cozy factor in your home just as the temperature starts to drop outside. Add a few little pumpkins and acorns and voila, the house is ready for the Fall!
Outside the house, we added some hay, some corn stalks, some gorgeous mums, and of course, more pumpkins!
For the second year in a row, our son has asked to “PLEASE” put up some scary decorations and not just boring pumpkins, but currently, his requested werewolf costume has had to be put away because once the sun goes down, his confidence diminishes and he is afraid it will come alive at night. Needless to say, we are sticking with “mom’s boring pumpkins” for at least one more year!
I hope you enjoyed the tour and come back again to see what little changes we make as the snow starts to arrive!
